The key suspect in the Kasoa Buduburam killing, Eric Kojo Duah and five other suspects, have been officially charged by the State at a Kaneshie District Court.

They have been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and abetment to commit murder and murder.

The suspects are Eric Kojo Duah, the prime suspect, Isaac Mensah, Ibrahim Zakaria, Oblitey Kommey, Victor Iray and Fatau Ahmed.

According to the State’s prosecution team, investigations have just commenced, hence investigators are at the stage where they will be required to have regular contacts with the accused persons.

The prosecutor has, therefore, asked that the suspects are remanded into a facility that is close to where they could have easy access to the suspects.

The court, presided over by Rosemond Dodua Agyiri, has, therefore, granted the plea by the prosecutor.

The main suspect, Mr Duah, Isaac Mensah and Ibrahim Zakaria, have been sent to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) cells while the remaining three will be kept in a Criminal Investigations Department custody at Osu.

The case has been adjourned to September 26, 2019.

Two police officers, Lance Corporal Mohammed Awal and Sgt Michael Dzamesi, were killed last Wednesday when occupants of a Toyota Camry vehicle allegedly opened fire on them along the Kasoa to Budumburam stretch of the Accra Cape Coast road.

Three of the four suspects were arrested on the day of the incident with the key suspect also arrested over the weekend at Atimpoku en-route to the Volta region.
