He made the point on Adom FM’s anti-corruption programme, Corruption Watch while discussing 1.2 million kickback alleged to have been given to the Ex-Director General of the Ghana Standard Authority (GSA), Dr George Crenstil.

According to reports, the GHc15.2 million worth contract has developed leakages and defects just two years after construction.

Investigations by Corruption Watch revealed that the defects in the GHc15.2 million worth contract were spotted almost immediately after it was handed over to GSA but have been left unrepaired.

Reacting to the issue on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Friday, Prof Osei Asiamah said all those involved must be asked to answer.

He indicated that any decision to renovate the building will be a drain on the public purse.

“It is time the public institutions knew that Ghanaians are watching and I’m happy the media is keeping people in check” Prof Osei Asiamah stressed.

The Governance expert said there was an increased awareness of corruption in the country not because the rate is increasing but because the media has hyped it.
