A lecturer at the University of Development Studies (UDS) gave incumbent Member of Parliament for the Kumbungu Constituency in the Northern region, Ras Mubarak a run for his money in the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primary.
Ras Mubarak polled just 273 of the total votes cast while Dr Hamza Adam polled 401 votes.
The third candidate, Baba polled 81 votes with nine rejected.
