Fourteen (14) suspects linked to the Somanya violence are before the Koforidua Circuit Court B where their case will be heard.

The suspects were part of violent protests over the arrest of the ringleader, assemblyman Ebenezer Jones Adamatey in last week’s demonstration.

The unplanned demonstration last Friday was to protest high utility bills charged residents by the Electricity Company of Ghana.

The youth caused damage to property at the ECG office as well as some properties in the Somanya Township on Monday to protest the arrest of the assemblyman.

Eastern Regional Correspondent, Kofi Siaw who was in court reports that the suspects are in court to present their case.

Meanwhile, Yilo Krobo MP, Kofi Amoatey has condemned the demonstrations citing them as unlawful.
