The brother of late actress and entrepreneur Beverly Ama Afaglo-Baah has shared details about her final days, revealing that she chose to stop taking medication because of her strong belief that God would heal her.

Speaking at a one-week remembrance vigil held in her honour on Saturday, May 30, Caleb Afaglo described his sister as a woman of deep faith who faced her health challenges with remarkable conviction.

“Ama refused medication because she believed God was going to heal her. She was a woman of faith. She was tired of the poking on her arms, legs, and hands, and strongly believed that God was going to give her peace,” he said.

The vigil took place at the Green Flavour Events Centre at Community 9 in Tema and brought together family, friends, colleagues, and members of Ghana’s entertainment industry to celebrate her life and legacy.

Dressed mainly in black and red, mourners took part in worship sessions, scripture readings, tributes, musical performances and a sermon in honour of the late actress. The atmosphere became especially emotional during a torch-lighting ceremony and the release of balloons, as many attendees struggled to hold back tears while paying their respects.

Several notable figures from the creative arts industry were present, including Selassie Ibrahim, Nikki Samonas, Gloria Osei Sarfo, Vivian Jill Lawrence, Roselyn Ngissah, Portia Asare, Pascal Amanfo, Salinko, Joselyn Dumas, Vicky Zugah, Kalybos, John Dumelo, Eunice Banini and Salma Mumin.

Also in attendance were gospel musician Gifty Adorye and musician Nana Boroo.

Beverly Ama Afaglo-Baah passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42. Her death has triggered an outpouring of grief across Ghana’s entertainment industry, with colleagues, friends and fans remembering her contributions as both an actress and entrepreneur.

Her final funeral rites are scheduled for August 7, 2026.
