President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey, has described as unnecessary the trolling of singer Wendy Shay for her infamous comment in an interview.

The Rufftown Record singer named material things she had achieved so far in the industry and said she would have to google to know her net worth since she has no idea, when she was asked by the Television Africa journalist in an interview.

Some Ghanaians thought her answer was wrong and subjected her to online trolls.

But, Mr Mantey, jumping to her defense, said Ghanaians should pay mind to her answer carefully.

According to him, the question subjected Wendy to name what a girl in her age bracket would be happy to acquire and not necessarily assets.

“She is a modest girl who has just started life relatively. For her, it was like when I was 10 years and my bicycle. Every stage and what it calls for so I am happy she is not trying to live and fake her appearances, this is what she has been able to do. She is not a slay queen,” he said on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
