An aspiring National Deputy Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Agbesi Nutsu has described the National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku as an astute politician who deserves commendation.
According to him, the man who has been christened ‘Boys Abre’ by NPP Youth has no competitor and deserves every accolade given him.
“As for that gentleman, Sammi Awuku, some of us were in the political terrain before him, but he has overtaken all of us, the man is as astute politician…,” Agbesi Nutsu said on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Wednesday.
Sammi Awuku was elected the National Youth Organiser of the NPP at the Tamale Congress of the party in 2014.
Mr Awuku who prior to his election had been tipped for the position polled 471 of total votes cast in that election.
Sammi Awuku played a key role in the victory of the NPP in the 2016 elections.
He has since been appointed the Board Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Agbesi Nutsu said Sammi Awuku deserves every single position given him because the ‘young man has proven that he is an astute politician’.
His statement was supported by a communications team member of the NPP, Jennifer Oforiwaah Queen who said Sammi Awuku is a politician who has set a high standard.
She however called on NPP delegates to elect a befitting Youth Organiser to replace Sammi Awuku who has signaled his intention to contest as National Organiser of the party.
To her, a leading aspirant, Dominic Eduah was the suitable candidate to fill the shoes of Sammi Awuku.
