The Medical, Social and Community Services Department of the Salvation Army Ghana has today organised an orientation exercise for eighty eight (88) health professionals posted to the facility.

The exercise which took place at the Salvation Army premises in Accra was to enlighten the health professionals on the policy, procedures, practices and objectives of the service.

The newly posted health workers included registered midwives, registered general nurses, community nurses and psychiatric nurses. There were 30 males and 58 females.

Colonel James Oduro urged the health professionals to work in accordance with the code of conduct of the Salvation Army and desist from negative attitudes such as pilfering.

Director for Medical and Social Services, Mr. Paul Bamfoh explained the essence of the orientation exercise for both the service and the workers and said the exercise is to help the nurses understand the ethics of the Salvation Army and also orient them on the need to desist from engaging in acts that would bring the name of Salvation Army into disrepute.

He added that the Salvation Army do not only focus on the spiritual growth of the human being but on the holistic development of people.

It is for this reason that the church offers services like healthcare, education among others.

Shine Peter Bansah, expressed his gratitude to the church for the opportunity to serve as he had been home since 2015 after leaving school.

He promised to give his very best in the discharge of his professional duties at his station, Urban Aid Health Centre.

Registered midwife, Celestina Adu-Gyamfi, also shared her thoughts about the exercise and pledged to give her best as she serves.
