RMG Company Ltd has distanced itself from a publication by The Fourth Estate concerning its former operations at the Apinto concession, stating that it neither authorised nor participated in the report.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the mining company said the allegations, views and conclusions contained in the publication were solely those of the publisher and should not be attributed to RMG.
“RMG Company Ltd wishes to state, unequivocally, that it has not authorised, commissioned, endorsed or participated in the publication or dissemination of the said report,” the statement said.
The company also rejected claims suggesting that the Government of Ghana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), or public officials supported or facilitated the takeover of its mining operations.
RMG said it was not associated with such allegations and had no intention of being drawn into political discussions or partisan controversies.
“RMG Company Ltd is not associated with such claims and does not wish to be drawn into political discourse or partisan controversy,” it stated.
The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining a professional and constructive relationship with the government and state institutions, stressing that the mining sector can only develop through collaboration, respect and adherence to the country’s regulatory framework.
RMG commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the leadership and technical staff of the Minerals Commission for their support and engagement, which it said had helped the company restructure its operations and prepare for the restoration of its mining activities.
The company further disclosed that it remains committed to its investment in Ghana and is working towards the full resumption of operations, with plans to create sustainable employment opportunities for more than 5,000 young Ghanaians.
It assured that its activities would be conducted in compliance with applicable laws, environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
RMG urged the public, stakeholders and the media to avoid attributing any political position or commentary from The Fourth Estate publication to the company.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to working with government, regulators, traditional authorities, host communities and business partners to contribute to Ghana’s economic growth and national development.
