A Ghanaian-born British parliamentarian has revealed racial prejudice still weigh on the lives of black and ethnic minority in the United Kingdom (UK).
Though subtle, Bell Ribeiro Addy said many people still experienced racial harassment in the United Kingdom.
The Streatham constituency representative of Ghanaian descent revealed this in an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Thursday monitored by Adomonline.com
Citing herself as an example, Ms. Addy noted that, she was affected by racial discrimination while growing up.
Based on this backdrop, the legislator said she refused to adopt her British identity.
Ms. Addy said she has therefore resolved to be an ambassador to fight racism of any form in and outside the UK.

Bell Ribeiro-Addy was elected as the Labour candidate for Streatham, replacing Chuka Umunna who defected to the Liberal Democrats.
Bell Addy polled 54.8% vote share with 30,976 votes in the United Kingdom General elections in November.
