Vice chairman of the black stars management committee of the senior national team, Wilfred Kweku Osei Palmer has explained that the decision to play Ghana’s last world cup qualifier game against Egypt in Cape Coast is to entertain fans of the Black Stars.
The Black Stars will host the Pharos of Egypt at the Cape Coast stadium on 12 November for the return leg encounter of the 2018 world cup qualifier, this the outspoken football manager says is not a way to ditch the Babayara sports stadium but only a way to enable the people off Cape Coast get a feel of the senior national team.
“We chose Cape Coast because we want to honor our promise of taking football across the country contrary to reports that the black stars have fallen out with the good people of Kumasi”, Palmer stated.
“Yes they were booed at the last time we played in Kumasi but we are committed to our promise to the people of Ghana”.
Coach Akwasi Appiah has called up 23 foreign based players to assemble in Cape Coast to face Egypt.
