The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has approved an 11.17% tariff increase for electricity which is to take effect from July 1, 2019.

In a statement signed by the the Executive Secretary of PURC, Mami Dufie Ofori on Friday, the Commission explained that the increase is for the recovery of total electricity revenue requirement for the regulated electricity market.
