Police in the Ashanti Region have commenced investigations into an alleged child-stealing incident involving two pupils of Happy Royal International School.
Airport District Police Commander, Superintendent Kingsley Kawodie, confirmed that the case was reported to the Police on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in the Manhyia North Constituency.
He, however, dismissed reports circulating about the alleged kidnapping of 11 school pupils in the region, saying the Police had not received or confirmed any such case.
According to Supt. Kawodie, the matter currently under investigation involves two pupils and has been classified as a child-stealing case.
Meanwhile, Headmaster of Happy Royal International School in the Asokore Mampong Municipality, Francis Koomson, said the school became aware of the incident at about 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
He explained that the matter had already been reported to the Police before school authorities were informed.
“We don’t have first-hand information now, but we are relying on the Police for updates,” he said.
Mr Koomson urged parents, pupils and the general public to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures, particularly when travelling during the early hours of the day.
He said the incident should encourage the public to remain alert and prioritise their safety.
