Police from the Dansoman Divisional Headquarters have embarked on an operation to clamp down on the use of motorcycles for criminal activities within the district.

The operation, led by the Divisional Police Commander, ACP Isaac Asante, has impounded 105 motorcycles for various offences and proceeded with screening for further action.

In a similar operation, “Operation Absolute Sanity” was embarked upon by the Korle-Bu District Police Command where 85 motorbikes and 14 tricycles were impounded in the operation.

In view of the rampant report on street robbery and total disregard for road traffic regulations, the Korle-Bu District Commander, DSP Cephas Edzeani, the MTTD Commander and District Crime Officer and Community Protection Personnel (CPP) embarked on the exercise.

The exercise will continue unabated to minimise crime activities as plans for investigation and prosecution is underway.
