Truth Missionary Baptist Church emerged winners of this years’ AWANA Bible Quiz after beating nine other contestants.
The winners outperformed the Korle Bu Community Chapel Church in the Torch girls to win overall.

For their prize, they received Torch girls (trophy) and an overall giant trophy.
Participating churches were Korle-Bu Community Chapel, Berean Baptist, Liberty Baptist, Changed Life and Truth Missionary Baptist Church.

Others include the Kasoa-Mateheko Church of Pentecost, Harvest Baptist, Dansoman Baptist, Shalom Baptist and Royal Priesthood Baptist Church.

Truth Missionary Baptist Church beat Korle Bu Community Chapel to the overall trophy while Shalom Baptist and  Liberty Baptist Church occupied third and fourth places respectively.
Korle-Bu Community Chapel came first in Sparks Boys, Flame Boys, Flame girls and Torch Boys.

The quiz, an annual event organized by the AWANA Club Ghana in Easter also saw Truth Missionary Baptist Church picking the three Perfect Score Award for answering all attempted questions correct in succession.

Rev. Thomas Asiedu of the Shalom Baptist Church asked that the over 700 church leaders and other members at the Church of Pentecost, Sophia McKeown Temple to be disciplined.

Quizmaster and an AWANA Missionary, Pastor Joseph Gyebi reiterated the need for the church to focus more on children’s ministry.
He wants children to study and practice what they learn from the Bible.
Having run for over 60 years in the USA and 34 years in Ghana, Awana has been responsible for grooming and disciplining thousands of children and youth to ensure they have a strong Christian foundation; and quiz competitions like these have played a key role in this effort.
