Almost the entire spectrum of government, traditional authorities and other sympathizers descended on Kumasi Saturday for the funeral of Mary Osei Kwartemaa, mother of  Chief of Staff, Frema Osei Opare.
President Akufo-Addo, and his vice Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia, together with their spouses, led a huge government delegation, including Ministers of State and parliamentarians to pay their last respect to Mary Osei Kwartemaa who died at age 98.
New Patriotic Party leadership, including Acting General Secretary and Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, was at the Jubilee Park, venue for the funeral.
 
The opposition National Democratic Congress team was led by General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu-Nketia, former Regional Minister, John Alexander Ackon and former deputy, Joseph Yamin.
Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, was among a host of artistes and other celebrates to climax the funeral, mourners had the opportunity to commiserate with the family over their loss and also went home entertained.
