Fire has gutted the warehouse of Kingdom Books and Stationary at Miotso near Prampram in the Greater Accra region.

A thick cloud of smoke dominated the Prampram skyline in the Greater Accra region after fire ripped through the facility at about Sunday 6:45am.

The fire is said to have destroyed itmes worth hunderes of thousands of Ghana cedis.

Five hours of the fire outbreak, personnel of the fire service are still battling to douse the raging fire.

Adom News correspondent, Kwame Yankah who is at the scene reported that, workers are doing everything within their means to salvage items at the part of the warehouse which is yet to be affected by the ravaging fire.

He indicated that, personnel at the Ghana National Fire Service at the scene trying to douse the raging fire.

Kwame Yankah added that private water tankers in the area are assisting the Fire Service with the supply of water.

Perssonel of the Fire Serivce had to breakdown some fencing of the warehouse to enable them douse the fire.

Deputy Regional Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service, Osafo Affum said they have been able to contain the fire at the main warehouse which had books, officer furniture.

He indicated that his men are working assidiouslyto ensure the fire does not spread to other areas at the warehouse.

Mr. Affum said although there is a fire hydrant at the warehouse, the presure from its pump is not strong enough to effectively contribute to the fight.
