Cluster of schools in the Adansi South District in the Ashanti region are appealing for support over the deplorable nature of their classroom blocks which is affecting teaching and learning in the schools.

Pupils of the Kyerembebi D/A Basic School, Adansi Odumasi Basic School, Atobiasi D/A Basic School in the district learn in mud classrooms popularly known as “Ata Kwame” is now in bad shapes.

In an interview with Adom News, a teacher of the  Adansi Odumasi Basic school, Joseph Yaw Armah revealed the class blocks which was constructed over years has  not seen any  renovation yet.

“The roofs leak badly and have caused severe damage to the ceilings leaving the classrooms flooded anytime it rains with lessons suspended for the day.”

The head teacher of Kyerembebi D/A Basic School, Samuel Ayitey also stated the schools have been abandon by government official even after many promises made to them.

“The school has written to the district assembly as well as the Member of Parliament for the area, Ernest Kofi Yakah, about the situation but help is yet to come.”

These statements came up when the founder of Vim Foundation Afia Pokua popularly known as Vim Lady and her team visited schools in the district.

The founder of the Vim Foundation Afia Pokua assured the teachers the team together with public support will rebuild the schools.

The Vim Foundation has already constructed three classroom blocks for the pupils of Amenam in the Eastern region and willing to extend the same help to these deplorable schools in the Adansi South District.
