Barely three days after a pastor died after fasting for 20 days, Ikechukwu Oke, a student of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, has also been rushed to the hospital while fasting and praying for 41 days and nights in his room at British lodge.
It was revealed that Oke decided to embark on fasting as a result of family challenges and worldly afflictions.
One Hon Engr Peter Edeh and others are said to have rushed him to the Accident and Emergency Ward of the Federal Teaching Hospital, FETHA 1, Abakaliki.
It would be recalled that some days ago, a Zambian pastor identified as Brighton Samajomba reportedly died of starvation on the 20th day of his annual 30-day fasting programme.
Samajomba, 37, of ‘Heaven Is My Home’ in Solwezi, Northwest area ofZambia, was reportedly found dead by his wife in the early hours ofthe 20th day of his 30-day fasting programme of standing in the gapfor his family and church members.
Samajomba’s death was confirmed by his brother, Reagan Samajomba, inSolwezi on Wednesday.
