An illegal miner believed to be a Nigerian has been drowned in a galamsey pit in Ntortroso in the Brong Ahafo Region.
Several others have also been trapped in the pit as well.
According to the Asutifi North District Police commander, DSP Teddy Damtey, the body of the deceased identified as Christian has been deposited at St Elizabeth Hospital in Hwidiem for autopsy.
The incident happened around 3:00 am on Sunday. Other illegal miners absconded.
