NDC National Youth Organiser

National Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo has described the botched Power Distribution Services (PDS) deal as the “biggest scam in Ghana’s history”.

He explained that, the deal was “cooked” for cronies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) just to milk the state.

The outspoken NDC Youth Organizer bemoaned how the Akufo-Addo-led government did not wait to see PDS’ securities before handing over power distribution in Ghana to them.

According to him, instead of the government going to cross-check the company’s guarantees before handing over Ghana’s GH¢18 billion asset to them, they opted to hand it over to its cronies.

Mr. Opare Addo could not fathom why the NPP that prides itself as incorruptible is caught in a deal which has short changed Ghanaians.

Eric Twum, NPP Communications team member

In a rebuttal, a communications team member of the NPP, Eric Twum called the bluff of the NDC National Youth Organizer.

He maintained that, government’s decision to suspend the PDS contract is to secure state asset.

The NPP man said he is not surprised about the wild allegations being made by Mr. Opare Addo because it is a strategy of the NDC to make government unpopular.
