Leadership of Parliament has cautioned all aggrieved citizens to refrain from storming Parliament with placards because it is unparliamentary.
This warning was issued when scores of angry Mine Workers Union today stormed the legislature to petition them over what they described as wrongful dismissal of their members at the Tarkwa Gold-fields in the Western Region.
Close to about 1,700 staff at the Tarkwa Goldfields have been rendered fired and this the union describes it’s wrongful.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs also Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu together with the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu upon receiving the petition from the aggrieved Mine workers Union, described the growing conduct of citizenry storming the house with placards as unfortunate.
However, Leadership of Parliament assured the Mine workers union of expediting steps to resolve the standoff between their members and Tarkwa Gold fields.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Mine Workers Union described the decision by Gold Fields as unfair to its members.
The Secretary of the Union, Prince William Ankrah, presenting their petition to the house demanded immediate action to protect their members who are wrongfully being dismissed.
