Embattled former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi is fine and still working after his resignation as president of the association, Chief Executive Officer of Wa All Stars, Oduro Nyarko has revealed.

According to Mr Nyarko, the beleaguered former football boss is in a stable mind after a documentary by undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, exposed him to be unfit to steer the affairs of football in the country.

Oduro Nyarko was speaking Monday on Adom FM’s Burning Issues programme hours after Kwesi Nyantakyi tendered his resignation as a member of the FIFA Council, member of the FIFA Associations Committee, First Vice President of CAF and President of Zone B of the West African Football Union (WAFU).

Oduro Nyarko said the founder and bank-roller of Wa All Stars operates a private Law Firm by name Nyantakyi & Co where he has since been going to work as he faces the 90-day ban by FIFA.

“Kwesi Nyantakyi is alright and he is still working at his private law firm”, Oduro Nyarko stated.

Mr Nyantakyi was filmed accepting a “cash gift”, in contravention with FIFA’s code of ethics.

He took $65,000 (£48,000) from an undercover Tiger Eye PI reporter who posed as a businessman.

Following the investigations, Anas petitioned FIFA to ban Nyantakyi from all football-related activities for life but before the investigations could even start, Nyantakyi has decided to resign.

Commenting on the current state of football administration in the country and threats by government to dissolve the country’s football governing body in the wake of the troubles at the FA, Mr. Oduro Nyarko said the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has scheduled a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports over government’s dissolution plans.

Currently, GHALCA has triggered article 23 of the Ghana Football Association Statutes and has called for an Extraordinary Congress within the next 5 days to address the current crisis in Ghana football.

Contributing to the discussions, Sports Journalist, Henry Asante Twum revealed that government of Ghana has officially written to FIFA over its decision to dissolve GFA with FIFA responding to government’s letter.

He added that government is setting up a three-member committee to negotiate with FIFA to address the current impasses at hand to avoid FIFA’s sanctions.

Another Sports Journalist and a member of the Freedom Fighters in Ghana sports, Kofi Appiah has described Kwesi Nyantakyi’s apology as bogus.

He claimed that Mr Nyantakyi’s apology letter had nothing to show that he was remorseful, demanding a withdrawal of it as he issues a new apology letter to Ghanaians and the entire football fraternity.
