Members of the Ayawaso West Wuogon branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has elected the widow of their late Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Kyerematen Agyarko as candidate for the upcoming by-election.

Madam Lydia Alhassan Agyarko polled 439 votes to the four other contestants for the seat.

Her closest competitor was Ato Williams who polled 131 votes. Owusu Amankwah, Maame Yaa and Esinam polled 19, 76 and 1 vote respectively.
She will be facing Delali Kwasi Brempong who was elected the NDC’s candidate Friday.
