The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region will hold its Regional Executive Election on Saturday, August 15, 2026, with 281 delegates expected to elect a new team to lead the party.

The election will take place at the GNAT Hostel in Sunyani, with 29 aspirants contesting 11 executive positions.

The positions include Regional Chairman, First Vice Chairman, Second Vice Chairman, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Treasurer, Organizer, Women’s Organizer, Youth Organizer, Communication Officer and Nasara Organizer.

The Regional Chairman race is expected to attract significant attention, with incumbent Kwame Baffoe Abronye facing four other candidates.

The Women’s Organizer position will also be contested by Doris Asomah and Samira Sulley.

Of the 29 aspirants, 25 are men and four are women.

The elected executives will serve a four-year term and are expected to strengthen the party’s structures, mobilise the grassroots and reposition the NPP ahead of future elections.

The election comes at a critical time for the NPP in the Bono Region, where the party currently holds only one parliamentary seat, while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) holds the remaining 11.

The outcome is therefore expected to shape the party’s organisational direction and electoral strategy in the region as it seeks to rebuild its support base and improve its performance in future electoral contests.
