Nigeria’s entertainment industry has had its share of grief in 2026, but even as the industry mourns, nature has refused to slow down.

The industry has also seen some celebrities welcoming new lives.

The first half of the year is just about ending, and already several famous couples have welcomed new additions to their families.

Simi and Adekunle Gold

The year started with rumours of trouble in paradise, as social media claimed Simi and Adekunle Gold — who got married on January 9, 2019 — were going through a messy divorce, with damning allegations made against each of them. The couple and their management debunked the rumours.

Instead, the couple announced the birth of their second child in April. The baby was born on March 10, 2026, though the name has not been publicly disclosed. Their first child, daughter Adejare (Deja), was born in May 2020.

Lateef Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe

After five years of marriage, Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, announced the birth of their triplets (boys) in May 2026. The babies have been named Abdul Ramon Taiwo, Abdul Rahim Kehinde Adetona, and Abdulrokeeb Idowu Adebare.

Mo Bimpe also received a brand new black Range Rover as a push gift from her husband.

Veekee James and Femi Atere

Nigerian fashion designer and entrepreneur Victoria James, popularly known as Veekee James, officially announced the birth of her first child via a heartfelt social media post.

She and her husband, Femi Atere, welcomed daughter Eliana Adeife Atere on May 2, 2026.

The couple, who got married in February 2024, had shared that they tried for a child for a year before receiving the news that they were pregnant.

Sharon Ooja and Ugo Nwoke

Nollywood actress Sharon Ooja and her husband Ugo Nwoke welcomed their first child, a baby boy, less than two years after their June 2024 wedding. The baby was born on May 20, 2026.

Sharon kept the pregnancy entirely private until after delivery, surprising fans with the announcement.

She revealed her son’s initials are W.I.N. and signed off her post simply as “Mama Win.”

Deacon Famous and Mawusi Faith

Popular Nigerian content creator and actor Awesome Chidiebere, known as Deacon Famous, also welcomed his first child — a son — with his Ghanaian wife, Mawusi Faith.

Mawusi announced the birth on her own birthday, May 28, 2026, though the baby’s exact birthdate has not been made public.

The couple had their traditional wedding in Ghana on February 7, 2025, followed by a white wedding in Nigeria.

Ruby Ojiakor and Moc Madu

The Nollywood couple who go married in early 2025 welcomed their first child together in March 2026.

The baby boy is named Lotanna Haziel Madu.

The couple announced the pregnancy on March 23, 2026, and welcomed their son just days later.

The couple’s relationship reportedly began on a movie set where they worked together before becoming romantically involved.

Expecting Soon

Three other prominent couples have also announced pregnancies and are expecting their bundles of joy before the year ends.

Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi, Ini Dima-Okojie and Abasi Ene-Obong, and Wofai Fada and Taiwo Cole have all shared the exciting news.

We wish them all safe deliveries.
