Hearts of Oak head coach Nebojsa Kapor has warned his players against underestimating Vision FC ahead of their Ghana Premier League meeting, insisting that last season’s results will count for little when the sides meet on Saturday.

The Phobians will travel to the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema for their Matchday Seven encounter, which is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT.

Vision FC recorded a 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak last season, but Kapor believes changes to their squad and technical team, coupled with the artificial turf, could make Saturday’s fixture a different proposition.

Speaking to the club’s media, the Serbian tactician stressed the need for his players to focus on the upcoming challenge rather than dwell on previous meetings.

“A lot of things are different because, as I told you several times, last season is last season. The next action is the most important,” he said.

“We are approaching a lot of things to get more information, more readiness, and more confidence for every action that we are expecting.”

Despite Vision FC going five league matches without a win, Kapor believes their recent changes mean Hearts must prepare thoroughly to avoid an unexpected setback.

The Vision FC squad has undergone significant changes, while the club is also operating under a different coach, factors Kapor says make it difficult to draw conclusions from previous encounters.

“They have changed a lot of players and have different energies. They have a good young squad, and I’m sure that must be far better preparation for us and a better approach because we are also playing on astroturf, and that can be a far different game for us, especially now. Also, they are going with a different coach,” he added.

Kapor also urged Hearts supporters to travel in large numbers to support the team, emphasising the importance of their backing as the club seeks to maintain its strong start to the campaign.

“I am really very happy to see you on the ground, and I’m calling on them to come in their numbers because their support is very important. Come support us; together we are stronger,” he said.

Hearts of Oak sit second in the Ghana Premier League standings and will head into the encounter looking to build on their victory over Port City.

The Accra-based club will be keen to secure another three points against Vision FC as they seek to maintain their momentum and strengthen their position among the early title contenders.
