Akufo Addo tour

The Ashanti Regional caucus of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described President Nana Akufo-Addo’s tour of the Ashanti Region as a waste of taxpayers’ money.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Deputy Communication Officer of the Ashanti region NDC, Abass Nurudeen described the tour as an endorsement of mediocrity coupled with an inspection of plagiarized and petty projects in the region.

“We in the NDC thought President Akufo-Addo was an expert only in the plagiarism of speeches, we never knew he plagiarises projects too,” he said

He called on the president to give proof of projects done in the region under his watch.

According to them, a Timber Processing Factory that was established in 2010, MIRO FORESTRY COMPANY LIMITED, in the Sekyere Afram plains was re-commissioned by President Akufo-Addo under the 1D1F programme.

“How on earth can a private company that was established in 2010 all of a sudden metamorphose into a 1D1F programme that supposedly started in 2017,” Nurudeen quizzed.

“What has become of the promise by President Akufo-Addo to build a brand-new Corn Flakes Factory for the people of Sekyere Afram Plains,” he asked.

To Mr Nurudeen, the Ashanti region has been abandoned after voting massively for the NPP to win power with the inhabitants of the Ashanti Region still struggling to figure out exactly what he inspected.
