Ghanaian FA Cup holders Nations FC have travelled to Mali ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first-round qualifying tie against FC Diarra.
The Abrankese-based side will take on the Malian club in the first leg on Saturday, September 5, with kick-off scheduled for 16:00 GMT.
The return leg will be played in Ghana on Sunday, September 13, at 15:00 GMT, with Nations FC hoping to secure qualification to the second preliminary round.
Nations FC earned their place in the competition after winning the 2025/26 MTN FA Cup, defeating Dreams FC in the final.
As part of their preparations for their continental campaign, the club faced Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC in the Champion of Champions at the TNA Park.
Nations FC lost that encounter but will now shift their focus to their historic CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
The club are making their debut in CAF’s second-tier club competition and will be hoping to secure a positive result in Mali before returning home for the second leg.
Should Nations FC eliminate FC Diarra, they will face either Niger’s AS Zam or Burkina Faso’s ASKO de Kara in the second preliminary round.
Nations FC will be looking to make a strong start to their first taste of continental football and take a significant step towards advancing in the competition.
