Asante Kotoko have confirmed the departure of 14 first-team players as the club reshapes its squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The Kumasi-based side said the exits follow the arrival of a new technical direction headed by Director of Football Stanley Menzo.
Kotoko said the players who were part of the squad during the 2025/26 campaign had been assessed as part of the club’s preparations for the new season, leading to the conclusion of the player exit process.
Six players left the club after their contracts expired.
They are goalkeeper Mohammed Camara, centre-backs Samba O’Neil and Henry Ansu, midfielder Baba Yahaya, and forwards Peter Amidu Acquah and Albert Amoah.
Kotoko also confirmed that agreements were reached with eight other players to terminate their contracts by mutual consent, making them free agents.
The players are goalkeeper Benjamin Twum, centre-back Zackaria Fuseini, left-back Francis Acquah, midfielder Prince Badu, and forwards Isaac Mintah, Kwame Opoku, Johnson Owusu and Elvis Kyei Baffour.
The significant squad overhaul comes as Kotoko seek to build a team capable of competing for honours under their new technical structure.
The club have already been active in the transfer market, bringing in a number of players as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
Kotoko will begin their 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign away from home against newly promoted Debibi United.
The opening fixture will provide the first competitive test of the club’s revamped squad following the changes made during the close season.
