Nations FC have issued a formal apology to supporters following their relegation from the Ghana Premier League, bringing a difficult campaign to a painful conclusion.
The club ended their season on a positive note with a narrow 1-0 victory over Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on the final day. However, results elsewhere went against them, confirming their drop from the top flight despite the win.
In an emotional end-of-season statement, Nations FC expressed regret over the outcome and accepted responsibility for their failure to avoid relegation.
“This is a very painful moment for everyone connected to the club, and we sincerely apologise to our fans, sponsors, partners and supporters for falling short this season,” the statement read. “We take full responsibility for this outcome. Despite the effort and commitment shown, it was not enough to keep our place in the league. But this is not the end of our story. We will regroup, fight, and work tirelessly to bring Nations FC back to where it belongs.”
Despite their league setback, the club still has a route to continental football. Nations FC will face Dreams FC in the MTN FA Cup final, with victory potentially securing qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
