Asante Kotoko have apologised to the club’s supporters following a disappointing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign, which saw them finish in 8th position.

In a statement released by the Board and Management on Monday, May 25, 2026, the Kumasi-based giants admitted the result fell short of expectations, describing the season as unacceptable for a club of their stature and ambition in Ghanaian football.

The club acknowledged that, despite football’s capacity for recovery and renewal, urgent steps will now be taken to address the shortcomings and rebuild a stronger team capable of competing at the highest level.

Kotoko expressed gratitude to supporters across the country for their unwavering loyalty throughout a difficult season, describing them as the foundation of the club. Management also apologised for the inconsistent performances that left fans frustrated over the course of the campaign.

Looking ahead, the club confirmed plans for a comprehensive restructuring aimed at restoring its domestic dominance and re-establishing its presence on the continental stage.

The statement concluded with a call for unity and patience as Kotoko prepare for a rebuilding phase, insisting that lessons from the season will shape future decisions and long-term progress.
