The National Defence University (NDU) has commissioned 10 newly acquired vehicles to strengthen its mobility and support its operational activities.
The vehicles were commissioned on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Defence Mechanical Transport Battalion (DMT Bn) at Burma Camp in Accra.
President of NDU and Guest of Honour, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Felix Adom Asante, said the acquisition formed part of efforts to improve the University’s logistical capacity and enable it to effectively deliver its mandate as a specialised defence-awarding institution.

He said reliable transportation was essential to the University’s operations, particularly as it regularly engages with defence colleges, the Ghana Armed Forces, regulatory bodies, universities and other partner institutions across the country.
AVM Asante noted that the new fleet would support official engagements, group movements, field activities and other logistical operations, allowing officers and staff to carry out their responsibilities more efficiently.
He urged drivers and users of the vehicles to observe road safety regulations, maintain accurate journey records and promptly report any maintenance needs to ensure the fleet remains in good condition.
The Chief Coordinator of NDU, Brigadier General Emmanuel Nyante, also said the vehicles would improve the ability of staff to undertake assignments involving the Ghana Armed Forces and partner universities across the country.

The newly acquired fleet comprises two Toyota Land Cruiser VXRs, three Toyota Prados, one Toyota Hiace bus and four Great Wall pickups.
Stoubos Ltd supplied the two Land Cruisers, three Prados and the Hiace bus, while Zonda Tec Ghana Ltd supplied the four Great Wall pickups.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen the University’s transportation capacity and improve the movement of personnel and resources for its academic, administrative and operational engagements.
