Dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to change the name of Ghana back to Gold Coast.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM on Tuesday, Shatta said on his next visit to the First man of the country, he will discuss the issue with him.

According to him, the name Gold Coast will put the country on the map, stressing the name Ghana drags the development of the nation backwards.

“If I get the chance to visit Nana Addo [again], I will talk about taking the name Gold Coast over Ghana. It [the name Ghana] is a worry to the system, we have to go back to Gold Coast…” Shatta Wale said.

The self-acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ is currently promoting his ‘Reign’ album which will be released on October 13, 2018.
