Musician and backing vocalist Ekua Adadzewa, popularly known as Adez, of TV3 Mentor fame, has passed away.
She passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as announced by producer Fred Kyei Mensah (Fredyma) who broke the news.
Her last public sighting was a week ago when she attended the funeral of colleague vocalist SHE’s mother at the State House.
Adez gained recognition as a contestant on TV3’s Mentor 2 reality show about 19 years ago.
She later built a career as a backing vocalist, working with several Ghanaian musicians on live performances and studio recordings.
Adez was also well known for lending her voice to several jingles for brands, artistes and other commercial projects.
The news of her passing has since triggered an outpouring of grief among colleagues and fans who appreciate her contribution to Ghana’s entertainment industry.
