The alleged torture marks

The fetish priest at the centre of the trial by ordeal of a contestant in the just ended Miss Commonwealth beauty pageant has described as false allegation of assault leveled against him.

Togbe Shito claimed the young lady, Nana Ama Essien, was not assaulted in his shrine at Koforidua Kukurantumi in the Eastern region as reported in the media.

The 24-year-old lady was allegedly stripped naked and beaten to pulp in the shrine for allegedly stealing GH¢500.00 from a colleague during the competition.

Miss Essien has since been traumatised and is threatening to sue organisers of Miss Commonwealth pageant who hauled her to the shrine.

The police arrested the Chief Executive Officer of Miss Commonwealth pageant and the fetish priest for questioning and they have since been granted bail.

In an exclusive interview with Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall host, Mike 2, Togbe Shito denied any wrongdoing.

Rather, he claimed the lady confessed to stealing the money after some spiritual incantations.

“She begged the organisers for the embarrassment but we did not beat her,” Togbe Shito told Mike 2.

Reacting to the bruises on the body of the victim, the fetish priest was convinced she might have faked it for public sympathy.
