A farmer has been arrested in the Central region for attempting to enter the regional Police headquarters with a gun.

According to StarrFMonline.com sources, the 48-year-old Kwabena Nyarko had concealed the weapon, with three live cartridges, in his pocket and demanded to see the regional police commander.

Luck however eluded him when alert officers on guard at the headquarters, upon suspicion, conducted a search and discovered the weapons. Police sources say he has refused to disclose the source of the weapon since his arrest last Tuesday.

He is currently in custody at Cape Coast waiting to be charged.
According to reports, the suspect was seeking audience with the regional commander over some protracted chieftaincy dispute between Asona and Asine families at Assin Dansame which worried him.
