A yet-to-identified man was on Monday morning found unconscious in his still-running car in traffic on the Lapaz Highway.

The middle-aged man who was driving a white unregistered Elantra caused a gridlock on the stretch as he failed to move even with the green light on.

The situation attracted several commuters to his car to find out what the problem was.

An eye witness, Alphonse Kossivi, who narrated the incident said the driver was not responsive despite multiple knocks on his car window.

After several attempts to get his attention proved futile, policemen on duty around the scene with the help of bystanders broke the car window to get access to him.

“I stay at Fadama and I had come to Lapaz to pick a car to Caprice when I witnessed the situation. The drivers were honking but this driver still wasn’t moving so we went to the car.

“Nobody knew where he was going so the police rushed him to the Lapaz Community Hospital,” Mr Kossivi told Accra-based UTV.

He added the driver was feared dead as at the time he was found, considering his state.
