Mahmud Kabore has officially picked nomination forms to contest the position of Ashanti Regional Communication Officer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Kabore said his bid is aimed at strengthening the party’s communication structures across the region and ensuring that communicators have access to timely and accurate information to effectively communicate the party’s message.
Speaking to the Kumasi Mail after collecting his forms, he said his political journey had taken him from the grassroots through the branch and constituency levels to the regional and national communication structures of the NDC.
He cited his experience at the branch level, where he served as acting branch secretary following the death of the substantive secretary at Asuboasu L/A Primary School in the Sekyere Afram Plains area.
“I have passed through the grassroots of the party to the constituency level and worked for the party as a regional and national communication member,” he said.
Mr Kabore said his experience working with different communication directors over the years had given him a deeper understanding of the challenges confronting the party’s communication structures.
He said he was now ready to take on greater responsibility and use his experience to strengthen the Ashanti Regional Communications Team.
“The time has come for me to take full responsibility for the Party’s Ashanti Regional Communications Team and bring to bear the wealth of experience, knowledge and lessons I have gathered over the years, from the national front to the constituency level,” he said.
Mr Kabore said, if elected, he would work with party stakeholders to unite communicators, improve the region’s communication structures and ensure the NDC’s message is effectively conveyed to the public.
He also pledged to build on the work of previous communication teams rather than abandon the structures and achievements they had established.
“In Ashanti Region, I am coming to build upon what they have achieved for the party,” he said.
He further expressed his intention to work with the national and regional communication leadership to consolidate the party’s communication efforts as it prepares for the 2028 general election and beyond.
