Assistant coach of the senior national team, Black Stars, Ibrahim Tanko has blamed the team’s defeat to Kenya on the negative attitude of the players.

The Black Stars on Saturday at the Kasarani stadium in Nairobi were beaten 1-0 by the Harambee Stars in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers courtesy an own goal conceded by defender Nicholas OPoku and this the former Borussia Dortmund player believes the stars lacked commitment on the day.

“This is not the result we expected and I am very disappointed in some of the players. Their body language on the field was surprising; they did not play above themselves. They played as if nothing was at stake”, Tanko said.

Moving forward, the former Cameroon assistant manager revealed the technical team was going to review the game and also access the individual players again.

For Ibrahim Tanko, the national team belongs to the nation and those that are not prepared to play for the team will be shown the exit.
