Sensational Hiplife artiste, Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng, known in showbiz as Kontihene has stated unequivocally that fellow highlife crooner Kwabena Kwabena is not his friend.
Kwabena Kwabena emerged after featuring on Kontihene’s 2004 hit song dubbed: ‘Esi’.
Kontihene was allegedly marked to be influential in transforming Kwabena Kwabena as a backup artiste to a successful mainstream artiste.
The two musicians were perceived by the public to be ‘more than friends’ since they collaborated on lots of songs that received massive attention and airplay.
But in an interview with KMJ on ‘Daybreak Hitz’ on Hitz FM, the ‘Aketesia’ hit maker disclosed Kwabena Kwabena does not know him well to be called his friend.
He said they were mere business partners hence the perception of the public domain as ‘close buddies’ is not the true reflection.
“Kwabena Kwabena has never been my friend. I worked with him and that was the end of the game. He doesn’t know me well to be a friend. We spent more than a year or two together. I am not sure. We only worked together. He was not my friend…” he maintained.
According to Kontihene, he expected Kwabena Kwabena to go beyond boundaries after he ‘mentored’ him into the limelight.
“I expect more from him to be on a bigger level. I expect him to go beyond boundaries. I expected him to rise from where I ended. I am not disappointed, its reality, lesson and experience. I don’t have issues with him. That will be the last thing…”he said.
Kontihene is currently promoting his brand new banger titled “Di” (Esaa Na Asa).
