Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, John Boadu, has highlighted his 18-year working relationship with the party’s 2024 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as evidence of his ability to work with the party’s leadership.
In a post on X, Mr Boadu said his relationship with Dr Bawumia “is not a product of today’s politics,” but rather one built on trust, loyalty, shared responsibility, and service to the NPP.
He recalled that in 2008, when Dr Bawumia was selected as running mate to then NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, he had the honour of serving as Dr Bawumia’s first spokesperson.
According to him, he travelled across the country with Dr Bawumia, introducing him to party supporters and engaging members, including students and young party activists on tertiary campuses.
“For 18 years, we have worked together harmoniously through different seasons of our party’s journey. We have faced challenges together, celebrated victories together, and remained committed to the same cause, the advancement of the NPP and the development of Ghana,” he wrote.

Mr Boadu stressed that his long-standing association with Dr Bawumia has given him the experience and understanding required to collaborate effectively with the party’s flagbearer.
“I have the history. I have the experience. I have the track record,” he stated.
He further pledged that, if elected National Chairman, he would draw on his experience to unite and rebuild the NPP and reposition the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
“And when given the mandate to lead the party, I will put all these to work to unite, rebuild, and reposition the NPP for victory,” he added.
