The Jerry-John Yenabi Foundation has launched a major intervention to expand access to secondary education in the Krachi Nchumuru District, donating essential items and providing free transportation for about 600 fresh Senior High School (SHS) students.
Carried out under the theme “Touching Lives and Transforming Society,” the donation package included mattresses, chop boxes, buckets, and other basic learning materials needed for a smooth transition into SHS.
The support is aimed at reducing the financial burden on parents and ensuring that no student is denied education because of hardship.
Delivering a keynote address, the Foundation’s CEO, Jerry-John Yenabi, stressed that investing in people remains the most sustainable path to community transformation.
He encouraged students to remain focused, avoid destructive behaviours, and believe that their current circumstances do not have to define their future.
The initiative adds to the Foundation’s growing record of community impact, including the distribution of free uniforms to more than 3,000 children, donation of 1,000 copybooks to the Ghana Education Service (GES) Directorate, support for renovating deteriorated school infrastructure, and provision of anti-snake venom to protect lives.
To promote excellence, the Foundation also announced a full scholarship for the student who becomes the district’s Best BECE candidate in 2026.
Traditional leader Nana Amankunte praised the Foundation for its consistent support for education and community development, describing the SHS support as a first-of-its-kind intervention in the district.
He urged beneficiaries to take their studies seriously and become responsible leaders in their communities.
Parents whose children received items expressed gratitude to the Foundation and advised students to stay away from drugs—including “travel,” “Red,” and other harmful substances—so they can secure a better future.
The Foundation further called on government, traditional authorities, and religious bodies to collaborate in accelerating development across the district.
