Some taxi drivers at Tse Addo have commended the 48 Engineer Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces for work done so far on the Accra-Kumasi Expressway.

They said the road, when completed, would greatly reduce travel time between Accra and Kumasi.

The drivers, who also commended government for the initiative, urged authorities to ensure the project is not abandoned and that the construction timelines are met.

They spoke to Adom Trotro a day after President John Dramani Mahama announced that construction works on the new 198.7-kilometre Accra-Kumasi Expressway are expected to begin before Christmas 2026.

The Managing Director of the Accra-Kumasi Expressway Limited, Engineer Francis Ahlidza, also revealed that the project is expected to be completed by December 2028.
