Aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Secretary for Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, Damba Kwesi, has declared his intention to contest for the position, saying he is the right person to lead the party’s administrative and grassroots mobilisation efforts in the constituency.
In an interview with Adom News, Mr Kwesi said the NPP, as an opposition party, needs experienced and committed leadership at the constituency level to strengthen its structures, energise supporters, and make the party more attractive to voters as it works to recapture political power in 2028.
According to him, the role of constituency secretary is crucial to the party’s performance, particularly in organising activities, coordinating communication, and ensuring effective engagement with polling station executives and party members across the constituency.
He therefore urged delegates to carefully consider his experience and vision, and to give him the mandate to serve as the next NPP Constituency Secretary for Nkwanta South.
The aspiring secretary also took a swipe at the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the government under President John Mahama as “scammers” and alleging that it has failed to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.
He appealed to party delegates to support his bid, insisting that with strong constituency leadership, the NPP can rebuild its momentum in Nkwanta South and improve its electoral fortunes in future elections.
