National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has stated that he will run for the National Organizer portfolio in the upcoming National Delegates Congress.

Solomon Nkansah said communication is not the mainstay of the NDC for which reason he believes his services are most needed at the organizational apex of the party

He was speaking on the News Desk show on Joy News TV with Daniel Dadzie on Wednesday.

When asked if he believes the delegates will hand him the mandate after the leaked Kwesi Botchwey report questioned his integrity, he was quick to say the report is not authentic.

On page 28 of the leaked Prof Kwesi Botchwey Committee, it noted that “Solomon Nkansah as Communications Director was a disaster”.

However, Mr Nkasah challenged that if one goes to “the grassroots and find out who the most efficient national officer is beside the General Secretary, Asiedu Nketia” his name will be mentioned.

“I have read the executive summary and it doesn’t mention my name so I don’t believe the leaked report possessed by you is authentic, I haven’t even seen it”, he added.

According to him, the lack of communication was a major factor why the NDC performed abysmally in last December’s election as captured in the Executive Summary of the authentic Kwesi Botchwey report.

“An example is the scrapping of the trainee allowances. The government did not communicate that policy well to the people to be accepted before implementing it so the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) was able to capitalize on it”, he stated.

“Also, the then president formed the campaign team and we didn’t have a ready economist to counter Dr. Bawumia on his economic holes he was punching so that affected us,” he noted.

“I am not an economist so though I’m the National Communication Officer you don’t expect me to answer those questions neither are the likes of Dr. Omane Boamah so you don’t expect him to have tackled Dr. Bawumia’s claims either,” he added.
