President Nana Akufo-Addo has assured Ghanaians that the promises he made before the 2016 general elections will be honoured.

Speaking in Berlin to Ghanaians resident in Germany on Sunday, June 11, Mr. Akufo-Addo said: “This evening, I interacted with the Ghanaian community resident in Germany, where I, once again, reiterated my commitment to fulfilling the pledges I made to the Ghanaian people in the run-up to the 2016 elections.”

It would be recalled that former Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur had challenged the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to fulfill all the 170 promises the party made to Ghanaians ahead of the 2016 elections.

“I have been told that they have made 170 promises. They have to ensure that all those 170 promises are fulfilled so the people of Ghana can also benefit from the work that they came to do,” Mr Amissah-Arthur said while addressing party supporters at the National Democratic Congress’ 25th-anniversary rally at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region.

However, the president reiterated his resolve to ensure that the promises came to fruition because “the fulfillment of these pledges will put our country onto the path of progress and prosperity”.
