Award-winning gospel musician Noble Nketsiah has recounted a moment in his life when he was pressured to forsake God and join a cult in a bid to elevate his life and career.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM while promoting his latest single, the gospel artiste recounted that the incident occurred shortly after he parted ways with his record label in 2006 and began operating as an independent musician.
According to him, at a time when he was seeking to establish himself in the music industry, he encountered three men who expressed admiration for his talent and offered to support his ministry.
Noble Nketsiah said the men convinced him that he was gifted and deserved a bigger platform than the local scene.
“They told me I was too gifted to remain local and that they could help me take my ministry to the international level. They admonished me to join their altar which will propel me into greatness. They promised me wealth, travel, fame, widespread recognition and a very fulfilling life,” he recalled.
However, he said he became suspicious and decided to investigate further, which led to the revelation they wanted to initiate him into a cult.
“I immediately turned it down because I have faith in God. God is my helper, not any altar,” he said.
Consequently, Noble Nketsiah disclosed that after refusing the offer, life became increasingly difficult for him.
“Afterwards, things went worse; no money, no connection, nothing. People who had promised me started disappointing, friends deserted me, everything I touched turned worse. I saw it as the plans of the devil to frustrate me. About six months later they called to taunt me how I am faring after rejecting their juicy deal, but I still wasn’t pushed because I was content with what I had in life”.
He explained that a turning point came during a visit to Spain, where he attended a church service and received a prophecy that God would elevate him in due time.
The experience, he said, strengthened his resolve to focus entirely on his faith and trust in God’s timing.
Looking back on the episode more than two decades later, Noble Nketsiah said he remains convinced that rejecting the offer was the right decision.
