Apostle Job Antwi, popularly known as the Virgin Pastor has descended heavily on the leader of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr Mensah Otabil for taking offertory in dollars instead of Ghana cedis.
The leader of the Association of the Virgin Pastors who claimed he never takes offering from his church members during crusades could not fathom how Dr Otabil could ask church members to offer offerings in dollar denominations.
“I have never taken an offering in my crusade activities. It is wrong for a Ghanaian pastor to take offertory in dollars, if it were me, it would have gone viral on social media. I disagree with pastors and churches doing that. It degrades the Cedi. I don’t accept that…,” he said.
The ‘Virgin Pastor’ further advised Dr Otabil to focus on preaching the gospel and refrain from taking ‘dollars’ from his congregants.
According to Apostle Job Antwi, Dr Otabil as prominent as he is will eventually get elites trooping to pay him any amount he request and that popularity, he said is what is motivating him to take offerings in dollar denominations.
“He should not allow himself to be deceived by money. The glory he has should lead him and he should focus on the work of God. It is not the right way.
“Now the pastors have let the money go ahead of their ministry. You should avoid taking money in dollars. Preach the gospel and stop taking monies from the church members…” he advised.
