Police in the Western region have arrested a chief for reportedly stabbing a mourner in a free for all fight at a funeral in the Ahanta West District.
According to reports, Nana Ewia-manle a chief of Akwidaa, who is also an employee of COCOBOD, besieged the funeral grounds of one of his subjects to engage in a brawl with the bereaved family for not recognizing his authority as chief of the town.

Regional correspondent Ina Thalia Quansah said the victim Raymond Yankey was rushed to the Effia Nkwanta hospital for medical attention.
She noted that, the brawl is due to the protracted chieftaincy dispute in the area.

Ina Thalia Quansah said the people have refused to recognize Nana Ewia-manle as the chief in the area.
Meanwhile, Nana Ewia-manle is still in police custody pending investigation.
